This interpretation may find them assimilating change as they listen to accounts from other workers experienced in the outcomes of such events. On the other hand, there may be a divergence among workers concerning the value and meaning to be ascribed to the change events. If this is the case, a culture of ambiguity may be said to exist, where the nature, degree and value of the cultural change are highly contested and remarkably unclear (McLoughlin et al;., 2005). Following Piderit (2000), this paper suggests this may explain the disparity between an individual’s expectancy of change and their response to it, and also that, individuals’ ambivalence may influence whether they accept change, adapt to it, or reject it out-of-hand, . We show how different dimensions of ambivalence in different individuals can lead not only to different responses to imposed change at work, but can also account for individuals coming to terms with the demands of change.Item An analysis of well-being in retirement : The role of pensions, health, and 'voluntariness' of retirement(2012-08-01) Bender, K.A.; University of Aberdeen.EconomicsItem Anything but engaged : user involvement in the context of a national electronic health record implementation(2011-07-01) Cresswell, Kathrin; Morrison, Zoe; Crowe, Sarah; Robertson, Ann; Sheikh, Aziz; University of Aberdeen.Business ManagementItem An Approach to Discovering Product/Service Improvement Priorities : Using Dynamic Importance-Performance Analysis(2018-10-05) Wu, Jiacong; Wang, Yu; Zhang, Ru; Cai, Jing; University of Aberdeen.Business ManagementItem Approaches to recording drug allergies in electronic health records : qualitative study(2014-04-16) Fernando, Bernard; Morrison, Zoe; Kalra, Dipak; Cresswell, Kathrin; Sheikh, Aziz; University of Aberdeen.Business ManagementItem Archival practices and the making of ‘memories’(2015) Mauthner, Natasha S.; Gardos, Judit; University of Aberdeen.Business ManagementItem Are Individual Characteristics all that Matters in Earnings Determination? A fixed-effects model is used to control for unobserved time-invariant characteristics within countries. In addition, controls such as lifestyle risk factors, urbanisation and medical intervention indicators, for potential confounders are used. Contrary to some recent evidence this study shows that there is a strong, positive relationship between adverse economic conditions and the mortality.Item Are research data a common resource?(2012) Mauthner, Natasha; University of Aberdeen.Business ManagementItem Assessment of Patient Safety Culture in an Adult Oncology Department in Saudi Arabia(2018-05) Alharbi, Waleed; Cleland, Jennifer; Morrison, Zoe; University of Aberdeen.Centre for Healthcare Education and Research Innovation (CHERI); University of Aberdeen.Medicine, Medical Sciences & Nutrition; University of Aberdeen.Medical Education; University of Aberdeen.Business ManagementItem Bargaining on your Spouse : Coasean and Non-Coasean Behaviour Within Marriage(2017-06) Skåtun, John Douglas; University of Aberdeen.EconomicsItem Bargaining on your spouse : Coasean and non-Coasean behaviour within marriage(University of Aberdeen: Business School, 2015-02) Skatun, John Douglas; University of Aberdeen.Economics
